A fine example of Arita ware, also known as Imari ware, a traditional Japanese porcelain produced in and around Arita, Saga Prefecture. Renowned for its luminous white glaze and intricate decoration, this piece showcases the refined craftsmanship for which Arita porcelain has been celebrated since the 17th century.
The dish features rich overglaze enamels in red, green, and yellow, complemented by elegant cobalt blue underglaze motifs, characteristic of later Imari styles. The base bears a four-character mark, “Ruo Shen Zhen Cang” (若深珍藏), which translates as “Precious treasure for Ruo Shen.” This mark has historical associations with the Kangxi era (1662–1722) and was often used on high-quality export porcelain inspired by early Chinese designs.
