Buyer's premium:

A beautiful antique Flow Blue plate featuring the classic “Shanghai” pattern, showcasing an intricate Chinoiserie scene with pagodas, bridges, and Oriental motifs. Flow Blue is a distinctive style of transferware in which the cobalt-blue decoration is intentionally blurred during firing, creating a soft, flowing effect.

This pattern was popular in the late 19th to early 20th century and was produced by various English manufacturers, including W. Adams, W.H. Grindley, and Furnivals. The plate has no visible maker’s marks on the back, which is common for some Flow Blue pieces of this period.
