Monthly Stamp / Philatelic Auction - Rare | Collectable | GB & Worldwide
A group of Great Britain King George VI 2½d postage and revenue stamps, dating from 1941-1948. Each of the four perforated adhesive stamps is uniform in design and blue monochrome, featuring a left-facing profile of a male monarch, surmounted by a crown, flanked by a rose, thistle, and a shamrock-like emblem. Text visible on each stamp includes “POSTAGE” vertically along the left edge, “REVENUE” vertically along the right edge, and the denomination “2½ᵈ” (two and a half pence) within a circular frame at the bottom center. All four stamps exhibit multiple horizontal black cancellation lines, indicating prior use.
