This mixed lot features a collection of vintage records spanning from the 1920s through the 1980s.
It includes two early 78 RPM shellac records, six 45 RPM vinyl singles covering folk, pop, and easy listening genres, and a Disney read-along storybook and record.
The collection holds broad appeal for collectors of early recorded music, vintage pop culture, and nostalgic children’s media.
The first 78 is a Parlophone shellac disc made in England, featuring “When All Was Young” sung by Margaret Balfour, with “Creation’s Hymn” on the reverse side. Balfour was a noted British contralto known for her work in sacred and folk song. This disc likely dates from the 1930s and is housed in its original Parlophone paper sleeve.
The second 78 is on the His Master’s Voice (HMV) label and features the iconic “dog and gramophone” branding. One side contains “Julio Tango De Groot” performed by the Piccadilly Orchestra, and the reverse side features the track “I Have a Rendezvous.” This recording likely dates from the late 1920s to early 1930s and is housed in a vintage Forsyth Brothers sleeve.
Among the six 45 RPM singles, one features The Liverpool Spinners with “Songs Spun in Liverpool, ” released by Philips Records in 1963. This British folk group gained prominence during the 1960s folk revival.
Another single in the lot is “Ghost Riders” by Norman Dean, a more obscure recording released during the 1970s, likely part of a smaller or regional label.
Also included is the 1984 hit single “Easy Lover” by Philip Bailey and Phil Collins, released on CBS Records. This track reached number one in the UK charts and remains a staple of 1980s pop. The B-side features the track “Woman.”
One of the 45s is a reissue from the Old Gold Collection, pairing Lulu’s energetic 1960s hit “Shout” on one side with Dave Berry’s classic ballad “The Crying Game” on the other. These Old Gold pressings were made during the 1980s and are popular with collectors for jukebox use and nostalgic replay.
Also included is Enya’s 1988 single “Orinoco Flow, ” released on WEA Records. The song was a UK number one hit and is widely recognised as one of Enya’s signature tracks. The B-side is “Out of the Blue.”
The final item in the lot is a Walt Disney read-along book and record set titled Lady and the Tramp. This edition features a 7-inch 45 RPM record and a 24-page full-colour illustrated storybook integrated into the gatefold cover. The set is catalogue number 307 and dates from the 1970s or early 1980s. It was part of Disney’s popular read-along series, designed for children to follow the story while listening to songs and narration.
All records appear visually sound with signs of handling typical of age. One of the 78s retains its original Parlophone sleeve, and the other is housed in a vintage retail-branded sleeve.
The Disney book cover and record are complete, with wear consistent with age.
This is a well-rounded and varied lot ideal for collectors of early recorded music, vintage 45s, and retro children’s media. It also holds potential as a decorative or nostalgic grouping for display or creative reuse.
