Monthly Stamp / Philatelic Auction - Rare | Collectable | GB & Worldwide
A used postage stamp from Switzerland, identified as a Basel 50 Helvetia issue. The stamp is made of paper and features a blue ink illustration of a fortified tower or gate with a conical roof, set against a textured blue background. It has perforated edges. The denomination ’50’ is printed in the upper left corner. The word ‘HELVETIA’ is printed vertically along the left edge, and ‘BASEL’ along the right edge. A circular postmark, partially obscuring the central image and some text, indicates prior use.
