This lot features two original mid-20th century pieces of British automotive ephemera. The primary item is a copy of The First Hillman Minx Handbook from the Pitman’s Motorist’s Library series, specifically for 1932-47 side-valve models. The red card cover displays a central graphic of a steering wheel encircling engine components and tools, with text reading THE FIRST HILLMAN MINX HANDBOOK (1932-47 SIDE-VALVE MODELS) and PITMAN’S MOTORIST’S LIBRARY. The reverse features a full-page advertisement for Lodge Spark Plugs with a recommendation chart for Hillman models including the Aero Minx and models through to 1955, stating Fit LODGE SPARK PLUGS and feel the difference!. The second item is a promotional maintenance booklet titled Revive your NORTON with LODGE SPARK PLUGS. These are authentic period items produced in the United Kingdom, with the Hillman guide published by Pitman and the Lodge advertisement noting production by Lodge Plugs Ltd. of Rugby.
